Gerawan says it pays the highest wages in the industry;
class-action lawsuit alleges it doesn’t even pay many
of its farm workers the minimum wage
United Farm Workers President Arturo S. Rodriguez issued the following statement after the filing of a federal class-action lawsuit in Fresno accusing Gerawan Farming Inc. of failing to pay many of its farm workers the minimum wage and overtime pay:
“Gerawan boasts that it pays its farm workers the highest wages in the industry. But a federal class-action lawsuit accuses Gerawan of breaking the law by not even paying many of its piece rate workers the minimum wage, overtime pay or provide for paid rest breaks guaranteed under the state Labor Code."
