Lafayette César Chávez Celebration

 ¡Si Se Puede!

The 5th Annual Lafayette César Chávez Celebration consists of a series of community events that take place over a 6-week period, from March 11, 2008 – April 27, 2008. It is the longest celebration of its kind in Colorado.

Each event is organized by local agencies, clubs, organizations or individuals. No one group or individual is responsible for organizing the whole celebration. This unique arrangement allows for great autonomy, creativity, and maximum community involvement.

An Organizing Council, made up of one or more representatives from each organizing group, agrees upon a master calendar and raises funds which are used primarily for publicity. Any leftover funds are distributed to each group on a matching fund basis.A six week celebrof one of our nation’s greatest leaders. Visit this page to view a

“Once social change begins, it cannot be reversed.  You cannot un-educate the person who has begun to read.  You cannot humiliate the person who feels pride.  You cannot oppress the people who are not afraid anymore.”
