As we all know, the entire world is being hit by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) spreading and infecting more and more people. From what we have learned after closely following developments, the prospects of the virus spreading even more are very high.
Our goal is to reduce the chances of our staff being infected and doing as much as humanly possible to protect all of our union members and supporters. So the 2020 UFW Constitutional Convention, initially scheduled for May 14-17, is being postponed. At this point it is difficult to determine a new date and place for the convention as there is great uncertainty about where things will stand over the next few months. The issue will be revisited once things become clearer and we are in a better position to reschedule the convention.
