What: Farm workers devastated by the citrus freeze are currently holding vigil sit-ins in Congress members Costa and Nunes’ offices urging them to push the House Appropriations Committee to include federal relief for farm workers when finalizing the President’s recent declaration.

President Bush declared California a federal disaster area on Tuesday, but little details have been released whether or not the federal funding will apply to farm workers. Approximately 28,000 citrus farm workers may be left jobless as a result of the freeze in the San Joaquin Valley alone.
