UFW Blasts President Bush, Republican Leadership for Failure to Address Broken Immigration System

"By killing comprehensive immigration reform today, President Bush and the Republican leadership are also destroying the hopes and dreams of millions of families across this nation who only wanted to earn the right to apply for citizenship and stop living in the shadows.
"In regard to AgJOBS, if President Bush and the Republican leadership continue to mirror Pete Wilson and ignore the 2006 election when voters demanded a solution to America’s toughest problem, then farm workers will continue to be abused, the agricultural industry will be without a stable workforce, and the safety of the nation’s food supply will be in jeopardy."
