Veronica Mota shares, We are experiencing a strong heat wave in the San Joaquin Valley. Last week in the city of Madera, the temperature registered at 110˚ degrees. I want to thank the United Farm Workers for fighting to better improve the heat regulations. Thanks to this fight the shade now has to be readily available at 80˚ degrees and we can get an extra 10 minute break if the temperature rises to 95˚ degrees. We can also receive breaks of at least 5 minutes if someone feels ill.
I know all of this is a fight and I want to recognize the Union for their work because we also have the right to receive fresh water. The ranchers only care about their crops, but the United Farm Workers cares for our rights and wellness.
Veronica Mota nos comparte: Estamos pasando por una fuerte ola de calor en el Valle de San Joaquín. el semana pasada en la ciudad de Madera, la temperatura registrada fué de 110° grados. Me gustaría dar las gracias a la Unión de Campesinos (UFW) por luchar para mejorar las regulacions del calor. Gracias a esta lucha la sombra ahora tiene que estar fácilmente disponible a 80° grados y podemos obtener un descanso extra de 10 minutos si la temperatura se eleva a 95° grados. También podemos recibir descansos de al menos 5 minutos si alguien se siente enfermo.
Sé que todo esto es una lucha y quiero reconocer a la Unión por su trabajo porque también tenemos el derecho a recibir agua fresca. Los ganaderos sólo se preocupan por sus cultivos, pero Unión de Campesinos se preocupa por nuestros derechos y bienestar.”
